Joseph Valette de Montigny was a French Baroque composer of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Linked to the wealthy family of Perpignan goldsmiths, Valletta, so it was in Béziers that Montigny Valletta began his studies in the master's Cathedral. He quickly became music master, from 1689 to 1692. Until 1694, he held the same position, but this time in Narbonne. From 1718 to 1725 he lived in Senlis before joining the choir of St. Seurin Bordeaux until 1729; highly famous cathedral mastery that he never left until his death in 1738.
